Stories from a Kerala quarantine: Evening walk for a Chai

Chai peedika is what we call small tea shops in the village. Lockdown blues motivated us to take a long evening walk to our regular but old tea shop near the railway station. Disappointment awaited us, with an agonizing smile on its face, right in front of the permanently closed peedika. With no scope for second thought, we took the path never taken behind the railway station. Fortune favored the brave. We saw the most beautiful sunset since the lockdown.
